Elaine ADITA Agnes, the creator of Adita Cosmetics, along with Adita Hair Designs, was destined to pursue a career in the Beauty Industry. At an early age she became mesmerized watching her mom and her aunts honing their craft. At the early age of 8, Adita would come home from school and go to her aunt's hair salon and beg to help out. That really began her interest in the Beauty Industry.

At the time, Adita's mom worked at an uptown Phildelphia Hair Salon, and each day when she got off work, she would come to her sister's hair salon and teach her some of the new techniques she had learned. The two women would cut and style each others hair while Adita looked on. What impressed Adita was the fact that with the change of hair cut, style, and color and then applying makeup, anyone could be transformed and look like a star!

One day after assisting a very famous Hollywood Makeup Artist, Adita's mom came home from work explaining that she had been asked to move to New York to be his assistant. Adita saw the pride and excitement her mother felt and she then realized that all these fabulous opportunities could be hers someday too!

Adita's first professional assignment was at the age of 12 designing hair and makeup for her sister's dance recital where she deftly applied false lashes to the budding ballerinas. Another time she remembers cutting up her mothers false lashes and putting them on herself for a more natural look before she had access to individual lashes.

As she became old enough, Adita did begin assisting her aunt in her salon and also observing her mom at work. One of her experiences included watching a demo from a makeup company that helped people cover up their scars. Adita totally related. Growing up overweight, she knew that when her hair and makeup was done, that she herself felt like a goddess. She knew then that she wanted to have her own cosmetic line someday so she too could help others.

After completing high school, Adita studied at a Philadelphia Hair Academy. After working her way to assistant manager at her first job in only a few years, she knew she could still learn more, so she changed salons and sought out higher levels of education. Adita worked at Richard Nicholas Hair Salon in Philadelphia, meanwhile attending training sessions at Vidal Sassoon, Jacques Dessange of Paris, and many other schools in both the United States and internationally. She also became an educator for Sebastien during this time.

At one point she began assisting Mr. Bernardi in the prestigious Phildelphia Hair Fashion Guild and eventually worked her way up to becoming President. The organization put on nine shows a year with some of the most famous people in the Beauty Industry. This was an exceptional experience for Adita because she was able to work alongside people she had admired for years while honing her skills.

Adita was getting notable recognition for her talents in transforming people's images and looks, so she had many opportunities presented to her including directing model selection, doing hair and makeup for a variety of events such as fashion shoots, music videos, and invitation only productions showcasing the latest design and trends.

During all her years of learning hair and makeup designs, she also studied yoga and meditiation to seek a deeper spiritual meaning. She became a student of Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, who coined the name "Adita" which means "Goddess to be praised" and and also "sexy, playful goddess". Elaine thought that was perfect for her new makeup line - hence the name Adita Cosmetics!

Adita continues to be a sought-after educator, trainer, and consultant whose depth of experience in hair and makeup has culminated with her creation of Adita Cosmetics and Adita Hair Designs. Remarkably, she remains hand on and passionate about helping each client achieve their best individual style.
